About Marea Fishing

Meet Capt. Carlos Rodriguez, Founder of Marea Fishing

Cuban-born and Florida-bred, Captain Carlos D. Rodriguez has fished South Florida waters his entire life. A UCF graduate and former owner of Ripping Drag Charters, a light-tackle guide service, Carlos also co-hosted the 11x Telly Award-winning Florida Sport Fishing TV series for over 10 years, with inshore and offshore tournament wins along the way.

The show, which aired on the Bally Sports network, is a reality-based, educational fishing program teaching anglers of all skill levels the latest tips, tactics and techniques for Florida and the neighboring Bahamas.

Our Story

Since the early '80s, we have been captivated by the ocean's tides and the savage strikes of predatory fish on an artificial lure. The Rodriguez brothers, tropically born and bred, grew up fishing the nutrient-rich waters of Florida.

Back in 2016, night after night, Carlos and Mauricio dreamed of building a more realistic, natural-swimming fishing lure. Launching a new brand into a crowded market, they went back to their roots: real baitfish patterns and swimming actions that consistently produce. Crazy, fake or LOUD colors would have no place in the lineup, especially if they looked out of place on Mother Nature's stage. From coastal forage to offshore baitfish patterns, the company's core concept was born that night.

Next was turning baitfish dreams into reality. Only a few short years later, Marea offers 8 product lines in a variety of actions and native baitfish designs, including swimbaits, custom-rigged dredges, stickbaits, twitch baits, topwater and soft plastic lures. Through every challenge, family has stayed at the center, which may be exactly why the brothers went into business together.

Our Commitment

With over 30 years of on-the-water experience, we've chased everything from redfish to black marlin. We share that knowledge through Marea's accurate baitfish profiles, realistic swimming actions and local bait patterns.

We're confident our realistic baitfish designs and tournament-grade gear will help you land more fish and make the most of your time on the water. PERIOD.
